WHAT IS A LEGACY?

A legacy is the echo of the best of a human-the imprint that they leave upon their family, their work, and the other people into whom they invest their lives. Above all, Lee Cook's greatest legacy is in the compassion he showed to his family. Lee Cook also left a legacy of the cardinal virtues of his life. The dedication, integrity, and innovation possessed by Lee are alive in his company and for our clients.

 A LEGACY OF DEDICATION

Dedication is proved in adversity, and Lee Cook built and tested his dedication working his way from inner city Detroit, through his degree in Engineering from Michigan Technical Institute. This dedication was strengthened and crafted as Cook progressed through his career with the US Air Force and earned two advanced degrees in engineering from the University of Dayton and Dartmouth College. Dedication to solving problems was the driving force that Cook drew upon as he continued his career, developing solutions for each problem he faced. This dedication was exercised and strengthened throughout Cook's professional life, and it would become the heart of the company which now bears his name.

 A LEGACY OF INTEGRITY

Lee Cook held honesty and integrity as the highest personal virtues. Less scrupulous men would say he was honest to a fault, but Lee worked tirelessly to be sure that at the end of they day he was an honest man. This integrity took shape in Cook's relationship with customers, colleagues, and even competitors. Cook did what he said he would do, was forthright with his customers, and worked to say with every confidence that he was offering his customer the very best solution. If dedication is the heart of Cook Legacy, integrity is the skeleton-a dedication to integrity gives shape to all that we do, and a solid foundation from which we can move forward.

 A LEGACY OF INNOVATION

 Every stage of Lee Cook's career was founded on integrity, driven by dedication, and highlighted by innovation:

 · During his time with the US Air Force Cook worked on a team that developed a stronger, lighter, alloy that was used in fighter planes for the following decade.

 · At his first job out of Dartmouth, Cook responded to increasing need for effective, environmentally safe, and affordable screens with the passive wedge wire screen. The passive screen originally developed by Cook is the leading technology for environmentally safe water intake systems.

· Throughout his career, Cook met every problem he faced with an innovative solution: specially designed air release systems to clean screens, bio-fouling or corrosion resistant materials for use in water systems, shop equipment to expedite manufacturing, and finally Jacquelyn™ Coating.

· At the end of his life Cook developed and tested Jacquelyn™ coating, a bio-fouling and corrosion resistant coating for use on a variety of intake and other underwater structures. Jacquelyn™ would prove to be the last innovation of Cook's life.

On April 9th of 1999, a tornado struck the home of Lee and Jacque Cook killing them both and destroying their home and home office. The next day's mail carried a copy of the patent for the coating.

CHARACTER OUTLASTS THE HEARTBEAT: HIS LEGACY AND OURS As is always the case, character outlasts the heartbeat. Lee Cook has moved on, but his dedication, integrity, and innovation-his legacy-are still very much alive.
